I don't know who is reading this, right now. But if you are- hello.
Welcome to my blog... or maybe I should say, to my brain.
This blog is a snippet of my mind and all the things I think about as an entrepreneur.
Before I was an entrepreneur or a business coach, I was a blogger (or so I liked to think I was). In the 2019, I launched a passion project called Unravel blog... I'm pretty sure the Instagram account is still up (@unravelblog). My mission was simple- I wanted to help everyday people become unravelled; to disentangle themselves from the stress and worries of life and to find peace, certainty and fulfilment by slowing down and seeing the world through gratitude and wonder. My mission was to help people slow down and appreciate the simple things... because those are the things that really, truly matter at the end of the day.
In early 2020, about a year later- the blog was put to a halt because I had discovered a new passion of mine: entrepreneurship. I started my business wanting to explore the world of business and to find my potential in it. I started with social media consulting and then eventually became a business coach. Now, this is what I do... but beyond that- I've discovered it's also who I am.
It's very strange to be able to say "I've found what it is I'm meant to be doing" and to be so confident that "this is the work I was created to do." It almost sounds ignorant. But I think it only seems that way because majority of people don't know or aren't confident that they are where they need to be. Looking back now, almost 2 years later since starting my first blog- I realise the heartbeat of what I do and why I do it remains the same.
My work on this earth is not to make money.
Sure, I'm a business coach and I help my clients make money- but that's just an avenue through which I live out my true purpose... the one that drives me every day.
It's to help you live out your potential. That is where the riches lie. That is the wealth of life. When you and I push our limits, we discover what we're made of... and we discover what matters.
As a business coach, I work with many different clients but the common thread among all of us is that we all are searching for that peace. The certainty in who we are. The abundance that comes with being content. My mission as a business coach is to lead you by example to a life fulfilled because you explored your potential.
My friend, you are not in lack.
There is no shortage of clients, money or time.
We have plenty of it. By virtue of you living, breathing and reading this in this moment- tells me you are not in lack of anything.
No amount of money, wealth, power or success in your business can give you peace.
Beyond wealth and luxuries lies true wealth... that is, peace.
You are not in lack.
You can slow down and enjoy the journey. You can appreciate experiences as they come. You can stop to relish the victories and the battles.
While life is indeed fleeting, it is also here and now for you and me.
We are alive and breathing today.
How wonderful is that?
Sometimes it can be so easy to spiral into the fears that "it will never work out" or worry that "all the hard work will never pay off." We lose sight of why we even started... and why it's worth it to build what we're building.
You became an entrepreneur for a reason, right?
The longer I build my business, the more I realise that it's never really about the money.
In the beginning it seems to be but sooner or later, we realise that it's about contribution.
Contribution to something greater than ourselves.
I believe as humans, that is part of our design. We long to grow and we long to give.
So with that, fellow entrepreneur, I leave you to ponder on what you've made this life about.
Maybe the pursuit of success or the hunger for an empire has left you feeling dry, thirsty & scarce.
Is that how you want it to be?
How long will you continue to grapple through life trying to find joy amidst the targets, expectations and standards you've set?
Is your business serving you and allowing you to be your highest self, or is it removing you from who you know you truly are?
Are you running your business or is your business running you?
I hope that in some way, my musings and sentiments can inspire you to find more joy, experience gratitude and feel more peace in your business-building endeavours.
Might I remind you, your business is not all there is in life.
Look around.
